The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cuba, the National Council of Plastic Arts (CNAP) and the magazine La Jiribilla are pleased to invite artists, illustrators, caricaturists and comedians from around the world to participate in the 1st International Humor Biennial Political to be held between June 1 and 30, 2024.
This event seeks to explore in a playful way the impact of globalization and the phenomena associated with it, from a perspective of political humor.
• The theme in this edition will be directed to the fight against neo-fascism.
• The works, in digital format, must be sent by email to the following address: bienalhumorpoliticocuba@gmail.com
• The attached files must be delivered in JPG format, with a resolution of 300 dpi and no less than 2400 pixels on the longest side.
• The files must be identified with the author's name and must include the following data:
* First and last names (in addition to the pseudonym)
* Country
* Tittle
* Private Address
* Email
* Phone
• The selected works will be printed and exhibited in the main exhibition and collateral exhibitions.
• They may be published in promotional materials and catalogs of the Biennial, always mentioning the author and respecting intellectual property rights.
• The deadline for receiving works is February 28, 2024.
• A large international exhibition will be held that will bring together the most outstanding and representative works, selected by a group of specialists, who address the topic in question from a humorous and critical perspective. In addition, collateral exhibitions by national and foreign artists will be held, thus enriching the diversity of proposals and perspectives on the subject.
• In addition to the central activities, a theoretical event will be held where problems related to the work of graphic comedians in general and, in particular, linked to the proposed topic will be addressed.
