Tribute to Milan Kundera,

Milan Kundera, Czechoslovakian novelist naturalized French, died in Paris on July 11, at the age of 94. Marked by the repression of the Prague Spring (1968), he went into exile in France in 1975 after being expelled from the Communist Party because of his dissidence and stripped of his nationality in 1979 (it will be restored to him in 2019). French became "his second mother tongue" in which he wrote his last works. Free spirit, witness of his time, often cited for the Nobel Prize for Literature, his novels* are translated all over the world.

Photos of the 53rd Bordighera Salon, Italy - Fany Blog

It is a panel by Quino dedicated to the sea understood as a means of communication; the subtle irony of the castaway who no longer has a place to send his message in a bottle, good-naturedly underlines loneliness.

Continuing the 2022 initiative with Peynet, the Homage to an Author section is dedicated to Joaquín Salvador Lavado Tejón aka Quino, creator of the famous Mafalda.

Stone No. 22 - Italy

Anyone passing through Bologna airport has an unexpected vision, on the slopes there is a showy Lamborghini Huracan with the luminous FOLLOW ME writing. It is the romantic reference to a past world, when planes followed rough jeeps on the runway with a sign behind it with the same writing. Our broken English was enriched by another expression, the disco song Follow me by Amanda Lear or the one with almost the same title (Follow me home) by Dire Straits became familiar and a little more understandable.

William-Adolphe Bouguereau - French painter

Who Was William-Adolphe Bouguereau? Learn About the Beloved 19th-Century French Painter
The most famous artist of all time is a difficult question for anyone to pinpoint. Today, many people might say Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, or Frida Kahlo. However, just a couple of decades ago, people might have given different answers. In a similar fashion, the name William-Adolphe Bouguereau may not be familiar to many these days, but in the later 19th century, he was one of the most beloved painters around.
